The history of Château Pessan is deeply linked with the story of the village of Portets. In the 17th century, it is said that the King Henry the 4th erected a tower  - which is still in the park of the Château – to keep under surveillance the river Garonne at the entrance of the city of Bordeaux.

Several family run this marvelaous estate : the Gaubert family  in the 19th century, then the Bitot till 1964, then the Medeville family till 1999. In 1999, De Bournazel Family bought the Château and launched huge works for renovation of the cellars dated from 18th century, that are still in course.
